Another Way To Breathe

Spoilers, obv.

From the start of WicDiv, I knew how I wanted to do my last writer notes.

I wanted to just post a mike-drop gif, followed by the traditional “thanks for reading”. A little flourish and leaving people to make their way through it by themselves. I’d do full notes eventually (likely for the final HC) but leaving it for a good chunk of time for people to consider themselves was very much the point. The blank page doesn’t involve me.

As the end approached, and the details solidified I decided the gif would be crass. It didn’t suit the specific execution of the final episode, which does prove that WicDiv as a device for getting over my own bullshit did work in some ways.

I decided I’d do a particularly short one, talking about how a few key things came to be and I felt worth explaining how it came to be. Not much - but some stuff that I felt worth chewing over. Part of worry, part as it’s interesting trivia.

Except when the issue came out the things I was worried about were things which people seemed to get. I was over-worrying again, and should have faith in the work. With half the reason removed, we’re left with trivia - and trivia can wait for a while.  

So I write this instead. Once more, WicDiv continues to teach me things.

WicDiv has been the most rewarding experience of my creative career. Ultimately, there are no words.
